What is Invisalign?… an aligner system to straighten teeth
Invisalign is a proven system used worldwide to straighten crowded teeth or close gaps between teeth, in as little as 3 months. Invisalign aligners are comfortable, removable and almost invisible – they are an excellent option for you if you prefer a more discreet alternative to traditional braces.
Why Choose Invisalign?… benefits of Invisalign
The Invisalign patented technology is the world-renowned market leader of invisible braces, they are removable so you can keep your teeth clean and brush/floss as normal throughout treatment, without getting food and debris stuck in traditional metal braces keeping your teeth healthier. They are comfortable too and almost invisible so no one will know you are wearing them.
Initial Consultation… find out if Invisalign is right for you!
An introductory free-of-charge appointment here at Dental Health Spa to meet our team and discuss the basics of Invisalign and other cosmetic options. We will ensure you are suitable for treatment and can provide a smile stimulation using our 3D iTero digital scanner to show you how your teeth could look after Invisalign treatment.
Full Assessment & ClinCheck… planning and 3D iTero digital scan
We will check your teeth are healthy and then conduct a full orthodontic exam, including photos, x-rays and impressions to digitally send to Invisalign. The Invisalign orthodontic planning team will then use this information to produce a simulated result of how your teeth will look after treatment. We will review these results via ClinCheck within 1 to 2 weeks after the assessment and if you are happy, we can then approve the plan and proceed with treatment.
Straightening Teeth…. with Invisalign Aligners
Now comes the exciting part…getting your Invisalign aligner trays fitted. This is the active phase of your Invisalign treatment. Your aligners must be worn all the time, they should only be removed for eating, drinking and cleaning your teeth they need to be worn for a least 22 hours per day. In cases of crowded teeth, we may need to perform interproximal reduction, where very small amounts of enamel are removed between teeth, to create space for movement without extractions. We may also bond ‘attachments’ to the teeth these are small pieces of tooth-coloured filling material, which help the aligners move teeth. They are removed after treatment. During this phase, we would like to see you every 4 weeks here at Dental Health Spa to check your progress.
Refinement… at the end of treatment to tweak the results if required
This is only needed in some cases- if your initial set of aligners will not give the desired result. In these cases, which usually involve more complex tooth movements, we can send a new digital scan to Invisalign and they will construct further aligners to complete the treatment. This is included in your overall cost.
Retention… keeping your new smile Straight
Once you have worn all of the aligners and are happy with the position of your teeth; we remove the attachments and then take digital impressions for retainers. You can choose either fixed retainers that stay in place behind your teeth or removable retainers. Removable retainers are worn 22 hours a day for at least 3 months and then at night indefinitely. We offer Invisalign’s own Vivera Retainers as these are the best option- you will receive 3 sets.
